Ashley Wilburn, a native of Hagerstown, Maryland, proudly comes from North Hagerstown High School, where she completed her secondary education. With a deep-rooted passion for family law, Ashley's current legal practice is focused on a variety of aspects of family issues. She concentrates her practice on divorce cases, alimony disputes, marital property division child custody battles, and child support arrangements. She also handles post-divorce and enforcement matters such as step-parent adoptions and private adoptions for parties as well as concerns about child welfare. Ashley has been a court-appointed mediator since the year. She assists parties in resolving their disputes without the need for court or litigation involvement. In addition to mediations that are court-appointed, Ashley also mediates in private cases for those who would prefer to avoid the litigation and court process.

Ashley completed her undergraduate studies in History and Politics at Loyola University of Maryland. She then pursued her legal education through Western New England University School of Law. In 2013, she graduated, and excelled academically, placing among the top 10 students in her class. During her time in law school, Ashley served as a Note Editor for the esteemed Western New England Law Review and demonstrated her dedication to legal scholarship and research.

After completing her law degree, Ashley embarked on a clerkship, working for notable jurists in Connecticut and Maryland. She had the honor of working as a law clerk for the Honorable Richard A. Robinson and the Honorable Elliott D. Prescott at the Connecticut Appellate Court. In 2014, she returned to Hagerstown, Maryland, to serve as a law clerk for the Honorable M. Kenneth Long, Washington County Circuit Court. This experience helped her develop a deeper understanding of the local legal system. Learn more about Ashley Wilburn

Ashley joined Poole & Kane P.A. in 2015 as an associate attorney. as an associate attorney. Her main focus within the firm was to represent the Washington County Department of Social Services in cases dealing with child welfare. Ashley's tireless efforts contributed greatly to helping children who were victims of in the face of neglect or abuse at children's parents or caregivers. Her commitment to social justice spanned far beyond the realm of law and she was active as an officer of the Washington County Human Trafficking Task Force, working diligently to increase awareness of human trafficking in the tri-state area.

In 2017, she was a founding member of Kane, Wilburn & Stone, P.A., where she developed her practice in the fields of family law - divorce, custody, child support and guardianships - aswell as estate planning - wills, trusts and powers of attorney, advance directives/healthcare proxies - and mediation.

Ashley started Wilburn Law Office, LLC 2023 with the commitment to provide an individual approach to each client's needs.
